Over the weekend, I had a couple of hours to spare where I was able to just walk aimlessly. It was a nice welcoming after months of catching up with friends and running to appointments during the weekend. After my appointment, I noticed that the weather was tolerable for a not-so-typical Toronto winter afternoon, so I headed back to my old stomping ground of West Queen West. Grabbed an Americano at Jimmy's and walked in and out of my favourite boutiques.
These kind of days are the kinds that I fall in love with the city once again.
Walking along Queen West and passing by Trinity Bellwoods. It's a nice change to the hustle and bustle of my work week. I sometimes forget to smell the roses. It's these little things I sometimes forget that makes me love the city. After a walk through the stores, I headed to my ultimate dessert heaven, Delysees. It was about 3:30pm and rarely do I ever go in there when it's so busy. I almost missed out on my Parisian butter croissants. (Side note: If you haven't had amazing croissants in Toronto - this is the place, the perfect balance of flakiness and buttery goodness, each bite takes me back to the cobblestones of Paris). Let's not forget that their desserts are just simply divine.
Days like this is when I realised that I should enjoy my time in Toronto and I should really take my time in enjoying it instead of always wanting to escape. Maybe this coming long weekend, I'll rediscover the city I fell in love with a decade ago. Whoa!
'til next time...
