I know it's been a very long time since I last blogged and this will probably be my most personal blog post to date. But here goes...
It's been a whirlwind couple of months in my life. And I've been on a huge roller coaster ride of emotions and truthfully, I really don't know where to begin.
In mid-June, I lost one of the most important person in my life: my dad. And honestly, nothing really can prepare you with losing someone so close to you. N O T H I N G at all.
I've always had a special bond with my dad. I was his little girl being the youngest of 3. Ever since I could remember, he's ingrained in my head of always trying new things at least once, especially when it comes to food (And you wonder why I know my restaurants). He also taught me the only way to learn about the world we live in is to travel the world (I wonder where I got my wanderlust from?). He was the one that encouraged me to follow my dreams... growing up I've always had a creative flair (but being Asian and all... art wasn't an option) - so when it came to choosing my major, it was my dad that encouraged me to go into fine arts. I truly cannot thank him for all he's done and taught me and I am forever grateful I was able to spend time with him in his last days.
Honestly... it's taken be about 3 months and a bit to even write something down without having tears streaming down my face... but time does heals the wounds, not all of it but eventually you will be fine. For anyone that is going through something similar... don't shut yourself in, go out with loved ones and it's ok to just let go even for a minute. Because at the end of the day... life goes on and it's ok to smile.
I also wanted to thank my dearest friends for being the rock and allowing me to cry on their shoulder when I needed it. I want to thank them for ignoring my stubbornness and continued to be there. Without their endless support, I truly don't know where I'd be. So thank you from the bottom of my heart, I really have no words to express my gratitude.
'til next time...
